The following was sent by Carol Loehr at the Affton School District:

At the June 21, 2011 Board of Education meeting, Director Michael Alexander submitted a letter of resignation from the school board.

Affton School District residents wishing to be appointed to the vacancy shall make their desire known by submitting a letter stating their qualifications and reasons for wishing to be on the Board to Carol Loehr, Secretary to the Board, 8701 Mackenzie Road, St. Louis, MO 63123. The letters must be received by Ms. Loehr by 4:30 p.m. on Friday July 8, 2011.

Members of the Board of Education shall be citizens of the United States and resident taxpayers of the Affton School District. They shall also have resided in the state for one (1) year preceding their election or appointment. Members shall be at least 24 years of age.

The Board of Education will select candidates to be interviewed during a meeting to be determined by the Board. The resident selected to fill the vacancy will hold office until April 2012.
