Affton Breakfast & Burger Opened on Monday: "Burgers Right and Left"
The owner said breakfast will build slowly, but lunch has been crazy.
Affton Breakfast & Burger opened on Monday and so far has kept the char broiler busy with burgers.
Owner Ismail Ilhan said lunchtime has been crazy.
"Yesterday all we were doing was burgers right and left. I have three cooks and I had to go help," Ilhan said. He even ran out of meat. "I had to call the food company, and I said, 'Emergency, send me ground beef.'"
Ilhan said breakfast needs to pick up a bit, and it will as more people hear about it. He doesn't advertise. He said "worker guys" are the first to arrive for breakfast then the seniors come.
It took three years to build up the business at The Boardwalk Café, his restaurant in Webster Groves, he said. Breakfast & Burger has the same menu.
Breakfast & Burger is in the previous Boodle's BBQ location, at 10024 Gravois Road. Boodles closed last year.
Ilhan said he's added a lunch cook and is now ready for the crowd.

We were very disappointed today because we came in right at 2:30 for a late lunch. After someone SEATED us, a woman came in and literally kicked us out saying they were closed at 2:30. We probably walked in a couple minutes before but the point is that there was not a sign anywhere saying hours! We had already loaded our baby into the booth and someone had taken our drink order and we were told to leave!!!! And they were not at all nice about it like we were supposed to somehow know that this brand new business was only lunch and closed early. We were really disappointed because we like supporting local affton businesses and we went to boodles all the time when it was in this location. Needless to say we will never be going back.

A phone number would be nice too. I've done a web search and all I could find were links to the various patch articles.

I read the hours are 6:30-2:30 p.m. That's too bad. I think they could do a great dinner business with the huge selection of burgers, salads and sandwiches.

Went there on Friday at 4:30, didnt know the hours. ITs a shame, I work full time and wont be there during those daytime hours for lunch. Guess I'll try breakfas or lunch on a weekend. . Love Boardwalk though. Work in Webster and live in Affton.
