Drug Arrest Made After Police Assist Motorist Who Ran Out of Gas
Shrewsbury Police discovered bags of marijuana on the Shrewsbury Avenue overpass near the exit ramp from Interstate 44.
Last month, Patch wrote about Shrewsbury Police finding bags of marijuana on the Shrewsbury Avenue overpass near the exit ramp from Interstate 44 after officers stopped to help an Overland man.
Police were helping him because his vehicle had run out of gas.
Shrewsbury Police now have arrested the man in connection to drug possession after matching his fingerprints to ones found on the bags, police said. Officers made the arrest at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28.
Police say formal charges are pending a review by the St. Louis County Police Crime Laboratory and St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

"bags of marijuana"... hefty trash bags full??? or sandwich size ziplocks??? Also, how can you be "arrested" if "formal charges are pending"???

Anyone can be arrested Francis. It just means detained. It doesn't mean you've been charged with anything.
