Food Fight: Nominate the Best French Fry Spot in South County

Welcome back, kind Patch reader, to the South County Food Fight, where we look for the best culinary spots in the region each week. This week, we're on the hunt for the best french fries.

Welcome back, loyal Patch readers, to the South County Food Fight as we kick off 2012 with our first episode: the french fry face-off.

Each week, we'll be looking for your suggestions on the best restaurants, diners and cafes for pizza, barbecue, pasta and more. Please vote, nominate and spread the news about our friendly competition.

So for this week's Food Fight, do you like your fries seasoned or straight out of the fryer? Curley or straight? Meaty beefsteak fries or shoestrings? Sweet or russet potatoes?

There are as many ways to serve a french fry as there are restaurants that serve them, but right now, we want your nominations for your favorite. Who has the best fries in South County (and we're including Arnold in this face-off)?

Please post a nomination in the comments below. You may submit comments until 5 p.m. Wednesday.

We'll take the top three or four nominees and post an article first thing Thursday morning. Then, you can vote in a poll to decide the Food Fight champion.

Vote till Friday at 5 p.m. On Saturday, we announce the winner.

So show your hometown pride and pick a place near you. Boast about that small family restaurant or other great eatery in your neighborhood.

And, if you are pulling for a certain restaurant, share this column on your personal Facebook page and Twitter feed and ask your followers to vote.

This column is all about you—your ideas, your feedback and your voice—so we hope you will chime in and check back.

So, without further ado, let's get the voting started. Patch readers, tell us by commenting below: Where is the BEST place to get french fries in South County.
