Is October Too Late for the JB Blast?

The JB Blast is being rescheduled, possibly for as late as October.

The JB Blast celebration and fireworks show might not happen until October.

The annual Fourth of July event was postponed Friday when the Lemay Fire Protection District—like districts around St. Louis—denied the event a fireworks permit due to extreme heat. St. Louis County Councilman Steve Stenger said he heard whispers of delaying the event until October, when residents won't have to worry about 100+ degree heat waves.

"I think all are thinking the weather will be better, and since we missed the fourth, it can be a little later," Stenger said. "Maybe it will be October-blast?"

Would you go to a Fourth of July event in October? Or should we schedule it sometime in Juy? What do you want?

October is hands-down the prettiest month of the year here, I think. But a delay of 8+ weeks is kinda crazy!

I would think October could also be dangerous, with all of the leaves falling and on the ground.

Yes. I enjoy their firework display and would come anytime. I appreciate that they still have this for our community.
