Despite high energy from Lindbergh High School's fan base, Mehlville defeated the Flyers 14-2 Friday night.

The Flyers fell to 3-6 on the year, while the Panthers improved to 2-7, after securing their first victory since romping over Northwest back on opening night in August.

Junior kicker Austin Massey connected on two clutch field goals in the early going to get the Panthers on the board, while fellow junior Brendan Morrow added a sensational 43-yard touchdown run to give Mehlville the cushion it needed, as it put the game away in the second half.

The Flyers got their only points early in the fourth quarter, when a host of Lindbergh defensive players tackled a Mehlville ballcarrier in his own end zone.
