Man Arrested After Knife Threat in Shrewsbury

The suspect brandished the knife at a bartender at the Shrewsbury American Legion Post 111, police said.

 

A suspect has been arrested in connection to a threat at Shrewsbury American Legion Post 111 at 7300 Lansdowne Avenue. 

The incident occurred just after midnight on Saturday, March 2. Shrewsbury Police said a Shrewsbury man brandished a knife at the bartender.

The bartender removed the knife from the suspect, police said, and called police after the suspect left. 

Police later found him at Shrewsbury Lanes and arrested him in connection to third-degree assault.

HOW did the bartender remove the knife from the suspects hand??? did he have wrestle him to the ground and fight with him or did the guy hand it over after being talked out realizing he was just drunk???

The suspect might have brandished the knife and then stabbed himself in the eye with it. Upon realizing that we was blind in the eye, he screamed "My eye! My eye!" The bartender, hearing the commotion, turned around and said, "Wait here. I'll get my things." The bartender was an opthamologist during the day and always carried his equipment. He retrieved his black bag, assisted patrons in placing the suspect on the bar after wiping it down with some top-shelf vodka, and proceeded to - as the article says - remove the knife from the suspect.
