Man Threw Stolen Handgun Out of Window as Officers Stopped Car, Police Say

St. Louis County Police said the gun had been stolen hours earlier in a burglary.

 

A man faces stealing charges after throwing a handgun out a car window Feb. 1 as St. Louis County Police pulled the car over.

Daniel A. Jones, 30, of Foristell, was charged Feb. 2 with receiving stolen property.

St. Louis County Police said they were pulling a car over Feb. 1 when Jones, a passenger in the car, threw a revolver out of the window on Interstate 55 near Bayless Avenue in South County.

Police said the handgun had been stolen in a burglary hours earlier.

Jones was being held Wednesday in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $35,000, cash only.
