It's almost Shrewsbury's 100th birthday, and residents are preparing to celebrate in style.

The city will decorate light poles throughout Shrewsbury with banners celebrating Shrewsbury's centennial. (Check out the photo gallery above for examples!)

The committee organizing the Shrewsbury Centennial Celebration hopes to hang personalized banners on Shrewsbury Avenue, Laclede Station Road, Watson Road and other roads through town. Historic buildings, like the City Center, will have their own banners honoring their history.

If you'd like to buy a banner to dedicate to your family or business, pick up an order form at Shrewsbury City Center at 5200 Shrewsbury Ave. Personalized banners are $150 each and have a family or business' name on them.
