Sperreng Middle School Recycling Drive
Unwanted lights can be dropped off at the school 12111 Tesson Ferry Road.
The Sperreng Middle School Environmental Club is offering the community a way to reduce waste and spread cheer this holiday season by donating broken or unwanted holiday lights to St. Louis Green’s 2012 Holiday Light Recycling Drive.
Community members, Lindbergh families and employees can drop off unwanted lights in the front commons of Sperreng Middle School, 12111 Tesson Ferry Rd., between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, between now and Jan. 13, 2013. Note that the school will be closed for holidays Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 21-Jan. 2.
This year, St. Louis Green hopes to divert more than 128,000 pounds of lights from entering landfills. Not only does the drive help protect the environment, but it also helps feed the hungry. A portion of proceeds from the drive is donated to Operation Food Search, helping those less fortunate to have a happier holiday season.
