MoDOT: I-64 Closed This Weekend between Hampton and Forest Park Parkway

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports the St. Louis work zones for March 28 to April 3.

During this holiday weekend, motorists need to be aware of two major impacts to traffic.   All lanes and ramps of Interstate 64 between Hampton and Forest Park avenues will be closed from Friday night until early Monday morning. In addition, westbound Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Missouri River Bridge will be reduced to only one lane open late Friday night until early Saturday morning. The detour for westbound I-64 will be to get off the interstate at the Forest Park Avenue exit (exit 38A) and follow Forest Park Avenue to Kingshighway. After turning left onto Kingshighway, drivers will follow Kingshighway back to the interstate.   The detour for eastbound I-64 will be to get off the interstate at the Hampton Avenue exit (exit 34B), turn…

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced it's celebrating its 100th year anniversary this month. MoDOT released the following details of its creation in a news release. One hundred years ago, just after President Woodrow Wilson was inaugurated and as women campaigned for the right to vote, the Missouri General Assembly created the State Highway Department. Because on March 22, 1913, the precursor to today’s Missouri Department of Transportation came to be, Governor Jay Nixon recently issued a proclamation recognizing the 100thanniversary of the Missouri Department of Transportation.  “At that time, most road building equipment was mule-powered,” said MoDOT interim director Dave Nichols. “Today, our skilled crews and contractors …

Hehmeyer is one of three candidates seeking a seat on the Fire Board.

Patch sent all local candidates for office identical questionnaires in order to compile candidate profiles prior to the April election. Each candidate who returned the survey will be featured on the site. My name is Robert Hehmeyer. I am 54 years old and live at 7717 New Hampshire Avenue.  I graduated from Affton High School in 1977 and have some college education.
