Affton Counselors Receive State PLTW Award

Affton High School and Rogers Middle School counselors were named the state’s Outstanding Counseling Team by the Missouri Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program at their state conference on Friday, Nov. 15.

Recognized for their dedication and service in promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education were: Mary Beth Graefe and Alice Hein from Rogers Middle School; and Jane Bohn, Mary Carpenter, Heather Mayfield, and Erica VanBuren from Affton High School.

“We are fortunate to have such a strong team of counselors to help guide our students,” said Dr. Steve Brotherton, superintendent of Affton School District. “They recognize not only the significance of the Project Lead the Way curriculum in our schools, but also the potential that it provides our students to become career and college ready.”
