Family Remembers Christopher Marks on Anniversary of Body Discovery

The friends and family of Christopher Marks gathered in Affton on Wednesday to remember him. He was found dead in the Meramec River one year ago.

Mark’s Step-father, Todd Combs, gave the 12-year-old and several other children alcohol during a float trip on August 5, 2012, according to prosecutors.

Marks separated from the group and drowned. His body was found in the river on August 7.

Combs was sentenced to one year in prison and two years probation for his role. He was initially charged with seven counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child in September 2012.

The family is circulating a petition and wants harsher punishments for people who aid in the destruction of children.
