Feed My People to Benefit From Holiday Concert

The American Chamber Chorale to present concert featuring selections from Handel's "Messiah."

When the American Chamber Chorale was founded by Stephen Morton in 2001, one of his goals was to “give back to the community.” Now in Season XII, the Chorale continues the tradition with a concert featuring selections from Handel's Messiah to benefit Feed My People, a charity that serves clients in St. Louis and Jefferson counties. The concert will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 16 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9907 Sappington Rd. in Sappington.

In addition to Messiah selections, including the Hallelujah Chorus, the American Chamber Chorale's program also will feature arrangements of familiar carols by today's composers. Audience members will join the chorale in singing traditional Christmas carols, celebrating the season by sharing the joy of music while also benefiting Feed My People. A reception for all will follow the concert.

The mission of Feed My People, a Christian interdenominational help center, is to show God’s love and compassion to all of His people, particularly His people in need. Feed My People was established in 1982 by John and Carol DeGuire to meet the growing needs of the poor. As one of the largest food pantries in metropolitan St. Louis, Feed My People provides food valued at more than $3 million dollars, helping clients of all ages and ethnicities. In addition to providing food, 20 additional programs are offered as funds allow.
