Harry Potter Fans Swarm Ronnie's 20 for Final Midnight Opening

Hundreds gathered at the Wehrenberg theater Thursday evening to wait in line for the last Potter film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part Two opened on 18 sold-out screens atΒ Wehrenberg Ronnie's 20 Cine at midnight Friday, with the theatre adding an additional 2:55 a.m. screening.Β 

Fans began lining up at 5 a.m. on Thursday morning, and by 9 p.m. a line already snaked throughout the lobby and stretched to the back door.Β 

"We tried to camp out, but they wouldn't let us," said Ashley Anderson, 20, of St. Louis. "We had to be first in line though, so we got here at 5 a.m."Β

Potter fans spent the time in line chatting, making new friends, playing card games, and showing off costumes.

"It was easy to pick my costume out," said Corey Dussold, 20, of Fenton, who made a costume of Dobby the house elf out of some cloth and an old E.T. doll.

Many fans let out cheers as they were let into the theater auditoriums for the midnight screening.

"We drove an hour and a half to come see the movie here at Ronnie's," said Ashley Johnson, 18, of Bismarck, Missouri. "It's a family tradition. It's exciting.Β But it's also very sad to see it ending."
