Double Book Release

This Blog installment is about my 2 book debut.

The actual physical copies of Show Caves of the Ozarks were delivered to me just a couple of days ago. Yes the books were delivered, not unloaded, just delivered. The actual adventure and excitement of unloading 2,400 pounds of books from a truck sitting in an alley and carrying and restacking them in a basement belongs all to me.

Another book, Underground Treasures of the Black Hills gets delivered on May 18th and then the fun begins all over again.  After that little task is out of the way it will be time to “Let The Party Begin!”  “The Book Party” that is.  As always the book release party will be held in Aris Restaurant located at Hampton and Arsenal on the edge of The Hill. It has a good menu.

The party will be Saturday, May 19th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  At 3:00 p.m., I’ll give a short talk about the two new books; a shorter Q&A will follow. All six of my titles will be available there on Saturday. Bring your friends and family. The event is open to the public.

Finalizing details for a book signing the very next day, May 20th at Meramec Caverns. It will probably start at noon and run to 2 or 3 p.m.  This is a place with lots of history and worth checking out. Meramec Caverns is just an hour away from St. Louis, making it an easy visit.  I’ll post details on my website.

Already did one book signing May 5th at Bridal Cave.  It was a lot of fun. Bridal Cave is located near Camdenton, MO and is very pretty. A must see if you are in the Lake area. It is not a large cave, what makes it a great attraction is the beautiful and massive limestone formations inside. It really is impressive. Then there’s the fact they are operating a Bridal Chapel; they even offer wedding packages. A section of their gift shop serves as a mini-museum. It has racks full of wedding albums dating all the way back to the 1940s!

It was just part of a week in the Ozarks. Stopped at Jacobs Cave in Versailles, MO and Stonecrest Book & Toy in Osage Beach, MO. Both are new customers of mine. Stonecrest Books has asked me to do a book signing at their store. We are planning tentatively on October and might get to do a joint signing with Missouri author H. Dwight Weaver. Besides all the hard work did some camping, barbequing and hiking. Wanted to do a go-cart ride but didn’t squeeze it in.
