Crestwood Bowl Offering Discounted Games to Celebrate Restoration of Historic Sign

The iconic sign comes to life again on Saturday at dusk. The bowling alley on old Route 66 is offering customers $.66 games and $.66 shoe rentals.

Looking for weekend plans? Crestwood Bowl hopes community members will join them for the re-lighting of their historic sign this Saturday evening. The sign is set to go live around 6:30 p.m. (when the sun sets), or earlier if the sky is overcast, the owner said in a Facebook invitation for the event.

They'll have snacks and drinks available starting at 6 p.m. until supplies last. The bowling alley is also offering $.66 bowling games and $.66 shoe rentals from 4-9 p.m.

Customers planning to stay after 9 p.m. can partake in All You Can Bowl for $6.60. Shoe rental is included.

The sign is one of the few remaining neon signs along Route 66. The bowling alley was able to revive the sign with a $9,500 grant from the Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program. The restaurant has scheduled a public re-lighting ceremony for sunset on Oct. 20, according to Route 66 News.
