Elegant Fine Dining Featured at 1904 Steak House

As the saying goes, “what’s old is new again” can best describe River City Casino’s concept for its 1904 Steak House.

Housed within the old space occupied by the late Jeff Ruby’s, the 1904 Steak House reflects the elegance of St. Louis’ turn of the century glory of Gilded Age opulence. It was a time when fine dining was defined by its menu, which always featured fine steaks and seafood.

Following this age-old tradition, the 1904’s Steak House’s dining room is plush - appointed with rich, wood paneling, crystal chandlers and a wine room nestled in its core where more than 300 bottles are displayed. While walking from the hostess station to your table you’ll pass the marble accented full service bar and the raw bar, a fresh fish station that displays one of 1904’s star menu indulgences, the six-pound lobster.

Steaks offered are seasoned to reflect its cut. Signature beef cuts include the 14-ounce New York Strip, a19-ounce Cowboy (rib eye) to the 28-day dry-aged, 16-ounce bone-in filet mignon to the vintage cut 22-ounce dry-aged Porterhouse. Steaks prices run from $24 to $49. While pricey, all steaks and entrees can be spilt on request to share with a fellow diner, making the gourmet steak experience more affordable.

Non-steak eaters can consider the Double-cut and Smoked Pork Chop ($29), the Grilled Salmon paired with a side of Ratatouille ($24) or the Spaghetti Al Frutti De Mare, tossed with lobster, shrimp, clams and crab ($32). There's also a rare menu item - the Chicago Veal Chop ($32) that arrives plated with Vesuvio potatoes and a Lemon Caper Sauce. High rollers can opt for the 1904 Signature Surf & Turf, a prime, dry-aged, eight-ounce filet mignon and a 10-ounce lobster tail served with steamed asparagus. Hollandaise optional.

Salads and sides are al a carte and are large enough for two or three to share, averaging between between $7 to $9 each. Desserts vary and are as decadent as the dining experience itself and worth saving room for. All are served with the snap expected from a high-dollar, fine dining establishment.
