Let's Get Metaphysical

Sylvia Turnbough opened The Zen Tree, a metaphysical new age gift shop on Watson Road two years ago, and hasn't looked back since.

Sylvia Turnbough worked for 22 years in human resources at Washington University before she decided to leave and open her own business. Her shop on Watson Road began as an antique store, but two years ago she stripped it down and switched it to a new age shop called , offering gifts for the mind and soul.

Customers at The Zen Tree can find everything from rocks and crystals, to books, incense, oils, and fountains.

Though The Zen Tree is not currently offering classes, they have offered intuition clinics in the past, where class members learned about using their intuition and cleansing their chakras. Turnbough, who says she has always been intuitive herself, has a feeling they will be offering classes again in the future.
