Martello's Celebrates Restaurant Opening With Ribbon Cutting

The Italian restaurant on Mackenzie Road opened last week.

Martello's Italian Restaurant celebrated its opening Tuesday with an Affton Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.

Located at 8025 Mackenzie Rd. near the intersection with Heege Road, Martello's is a family restaurant . Its full menu can be found on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The restaurant has gotten off to a good start in its first week, including offering bucket specials to baseball fans watching the Cardinals games.

"People are just coming in off the street and finding us," manager and head chef John Hammers said.

The ribbon cutting was attended by Affton Chamber members and local officials, including Terri Ems, Jake Baratich and Joan Edleson of the chamber; Sue Cassalegi of the Affton School Board; Missouri State Representative Genise Montecillo; and Captain Mike Dierkes and Officer Matt Backer of the St. Louis County Police Department.

"OK! You are official!" said Edleson, director of the Affton Chamber, after the ribbon cutting.
