New Concord Plaza Business to Remove Unwanted Hair Painlessly

The owners live in Oakville, and one coaches midget football players to feed into Oakville, Mehlville and Lindbergh teams.

The chest hair waxing scene from the movie, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, could be the reason a new business is coming to the Affton area.

In a few weeks, Shawn and Mark Boles will open Body Brite in Concord Plaza, and for $49 per treatment, per area, men or women can painlessly have hair removed with IPL–intense pulsated light–and it’s permanent.

Mark Boles said men and women have hair in places they don’t want it.

“They have to shave everyday, or they have to wax, and we’ve all seen The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and that’s true to form,” he said. “That hurts. I’ve never waxed, but I’ve had duct tape stuck to me.”

Boles said he didn’t want to open a restaurant or a bar. “I wanted to do something that people actually wanted. I stumbled across this. It’s something that people need. It’s something that people want,” he said.

The shop will also offer IPL facial rejuvenation, which evens out skin tones, Boles said. They’ll also offer dermaoxy treatment, which reduces wrinkles. “It’s basically like getting a facelift without going under a knife,” he said.

Boles has been with the federal government for 18 years, and married for the last 15 of those to Shawn Boles. He said Shawn is a master’s degree-level counselor. She’ll run the shop fulltime, everyday.

Boles said he was raised in south St. Louis, and Shawn is from O’Fallon, IL. They live in Oakville.  He said they chose the shop because it’s “a prime spot, easy in and out.”

Boles calls himself a Jack-of-all-trades.

Starting Saturday, he will start back up coaching football for five to 10-year-olds. He’s been the president and co-founder of the South County Football Club since 2007.

“We teach them right,” he said. “We teach them how to tackle, how to hit.” Boles said his program feeds players into middle school programs in Oakville, Mehlville and Lindbergh school districts.
