New Great Southern Bank Opens Monday

The Great Southern Bank on Rock Hill Road will open as full-service banking center on Monday. The facility is located at 6800 S. Rock Hill Rd. in Affton. Long time area banking veteran Carrie Carrigan will serve as the bank manager.

“We are excited to open our Affton location, and look forward to the opportunity to continue building and strengthening relationships with our customers in the area,” said Great Southern Regional Banking Center Manager Mary Dunavant in a news release. “Carrie will lead an exceptional team of associates, who understand the needs of the community and have a deep commitment to service excellence.”

The new banking center features a lobby, offices, safe deposit boxes, teller area, drive-thru lanes and a drive-up ATM. This is the sixth Great Southern location to open in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Carrie Carrigan has more than 29 years of experience in the banking industry and will manage six associates, including personal banker Peggy Hall, at the new location. A grand opening, including a ribbon cutting ceremony, is scheduled for early March.

The location was originally a Commerce Bank drive-up. It was later bought by Pioneer Bank, which added an addition to the building. In 2005 National City Bank acquired Pioneer and closed the Rock Hill Road branch. Carrigan worked for the location's previous tenants and had been trying since 2005 to get a new bank to move into the building.

The bank will be be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. The drive-thru opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. on weekdays.
