Pizza World Moving to Shrewsbury This Summer

The specialty pizza restaurant is coming to the corner of Shrewsbury and Murdoch.

A new pizza joint is coming to the heart of Shrewsbury.

Pizza World, part of a small chain, is moving from its current location at the Deer Creek Center in Maplewood to the former building at 7504 Murdoch Avenue.

The restaurant hopes to open by early August, after completely redoing the interior.

“It’s the best pizza you’ll ever eat,” said Cathy Miller, whose son Sam owes the franchise. “For me, it’s the bread and the dough being baked fresh that makes it so good.”

Miller, her husband Tim and her two sons all work at the restaurant in various capacities.

“It’s turned into a family affair,” Miller said.

Pizza World offers specialty pizzas, made on fresh dough. They also have salads and subs, which are made of fresh baked bread. They are applying for a liquor license to sell beer and wine.

"We try to have interesting and different pizzas," Tim Miller told Patch in an email. "A couple of the most popular pizzas are the Texas Bar-B-Que and the Ciao Bella. We also have a 24 inch pizza. 452 square inches of Pizza. If somebody really wants to throw on the kitchen sink try the Appondanza, 5 pounds of pizza in an extra-large 16 inch."

The restaurant will have both dine-in and delivery. There will be 12 indoor tables a couple tables outside as well.

Cathy Miller said she was glad to be moving, since their previous location didn’t have very good street access.
