Patch examined inspection reports in Mehlville, Oakville and Affton from Mar. 14 until Mar. 19. Information has been compiled using publicly available data published to the website of the St. Louis County Health Department

Restaurants are rated on a scale of A to C, with A being the best. Inspectors also give a score indicating the percentage of compliance with inspection standards. 

Unless otherwise noted, all inspections were conducted on a routine basis.

Comments: Refrigerator at 46 F is not maintaining food at 41 F or below. Broken thermometer in the small refrigerator needs to be replaced. Worn cutting boards need to be resurfaced or replaced. Debris on walk-in ceiling needs to be cleaned.

Grade: A (92), A (91) on follow up
Comments: No person on duty has a current food protection certificate. No paper towels at bar handsink. Chemicals stored with clean dishes need separation. Need current employee Hep A records. Cracked plastic food containers. Employee restroom door needs to be self-closing and the towel dispenser needs to be repaired. These last four items still present during follow-up.

Comments: Manager is enrolled in a class for the sanitation certificate. Cold hold table for salads is not maintaining product temperature of 41 F or below. Lost records for hot hold/time-temp as a control. Hep A information is incomplete and needs to be updated. Moist cloth stored on the counter needs to be stored in sanitizer. Follow up comments said only that the manager took the class on Mar. 21.

Krispy Crunchy Chicken, 18 South County Center Way

Grade: A (90), A (97) on follow up
Comments: No food protection certification. Mislabeled spray bottle needs label of correct product. Hep A information is incomplete and needs to be updated. Food stored on the floor needs to be up six inches. Dirty shelving needs to be cleaned. Worn rice pans need to be replaced. Missing cover-base by walk-ins needs to be replaced. Missing light shield needs to be replaced in the walk-in freezer.

Comments: Spray bottle labeled ‘RED’ needs to be properly labeled. Debris on shelving below prep tables needs to be cleaned. Dusty ceiling in the kitchen needs to be cleaned.

Grade: A (92), A (96) on follow up
Comments: No person in charge during inspection with the food protection certificate. Low battery for food thermometer needs to be replaced. Wiping cloths on counter need to be stored in sanitizer. Need to provide current Hep A information (still missing on follow-up).
