Small Business Shout Out: A Big Chill

When was the business founded? "We started the planning for the business in April 2009, but some issues with the buildings electricity didn't allow us to open until May 2010."

How did your business come to be? "The idea started with a conversation that my father and I had while driving back from Mizzou from Spring Break. The conversation ended with the decision that we would buy and operate a shaved ice stand."

Why did you choose the area you did? "My Grandfather used to live in Affton, and we currently live off Heege now. The building is just up the street from our house."

What kind of services do you offer? "We sell Shaved Ice; we have 48 different flavors, 6 sugar-free flavors (sweetened with Agave), many different combination flavors, or you can mix up to 3 different flavors."

What's a fact about your business that most customers probably don't know? "That they can mix up to 3 different flavors in one Sno Cone and it doesn't cost any more."

What do you want your business to be best known for? "I would like our business to be best known for our wonderful and sometimes unique flavors. I spend a lot of time and effort to make sure that our flavors taste as good as possible. Also for how finely shaved our ice is; I keep the blades very sharp in order to have the finest shave possible which I feel allows for a better product." 

What's your most popular product or service? "Our most popular product is either Tiger's Blood, which tastes like Strawberry and Coconut, or Wild Cherry."
