St. Anthony's Names New President and CEO

James Gardner Jr. will be in charge of the South County hospital.

A new face will be running the show at  as the Board of Directors voted to appoint James Gardner Jr. president and chief executive officer starting April 16.

Gardner succeeds Thomas Rockers, who is retiring.

“We believe that Jim Gardner possesses the leadership skills, vision and experience to ensure that St. Anthony’s will continue to offer the highest level of care to the people in our community,” David Sindelar, chairman of St. Anthony’s Board of Directors, said in a release.

Gardner has worked in healthcare for 28 years, most recently at a hospital in Gainesville, GA. The new administrator also lived in Wyoming and Texas and has a master’s degree in health administration.

Gardner travels to St. Louis with his wife Judy and three sons.
