As I stepped into the building on SLU's campus, my eyes widened and my jaw dropped, almost like a little kid in the toy aisle of a supermarket, more than one hundered big name colleges (and a few smaller ones too) were set up at booths with tiny brocheurts, souvenir pens, and some even had calanders. I was merely one of 2,000 teenagers that had made the plans to relish this oppurtunity to get some information on where we'd like to go to college. My personal top 3 as of right now probably goes something like this: 1. Western Illinois University, 2. Mizzoui, 3. Drake University, but that's all subject to change as the weeks go on and as my research deepens. The reason that these colleges hold their sopt on my list is because of what they offer to me as a student-athlete. Not only are they Division 1 sports, but they also have club sports and intramural sports as well. On the student side, they offer Majors in Journalism and or Broadcasting, which is the exact field i'm looking to go into.
Other than that, this week seems pretty normal, well as normal as being a Junior in high school can get, which isn't very normal at all, but at least i've gotten a start on where I want my educational and possibly my athletic future to continue.
Got a suggestion of a college with a good broadcasting/journalism department? Leave it in the comments below.
