Affton Days Is Here: Know The Schedule

The annual parade and festival will be held this Saturday.

The parade and festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and Patch will be with you every step of the way. Here’s how it’s all going to go down:

Friday night, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. — Festival participants set up at the parking lot. Security will guard the grounds through the night.

Saturday morning, 8 a.m. — Floats and parade participants will be gathering at , preparing to start. Shuttle buses will be available from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. to carry participants from the intersection of Gravois and Heege to the high school.

9:30 a.m. — Police will start shutting down Mackenzie and Gravois to make way for the parade.

10 a.m. — The parade begins! Floats, cars and marchers will go south on Mackenzie Road from Affton High, then go east on Gravois Road until reaching St. George Church at Heege. Don't forget to stand as the large 12 foot by 18 foot American flag passes by.

Afterwards shuttle buses can carry parade participants back to the high school until 12:30 p.m.

11 a.m. — Festival booths start operation. Food, games and info, entertainment and pony rides—all courtesy of local businesses and organizations, including Patch.

Around 11:30 a.m. — Gravois and Mackenzie open up to regular traffic again. Heege will remained closed all day from Gravois to Aronia Avenue.

Just before 12 p.m. — 6th District County Councilman Steve Stenger will officially open the festival by singing the National Anthem.

12 p.m.The Reptile Experience with Serengeti Steve.

12:55 p.m. — Winning parade entries will be announced. There are five categories: “Theme of Parade,” “Judge’s Choice,” “Most Original,” “Best Church” and “Best School.”

1 p.m. — A performance by Footnotes Dance Company.

1:30 p.m. — Fan favorite Steve Davis makes an impression with "Memories of Elvis."

2:30 p.m.  — Entertainer and magician Joe Fingerhut of puts on a show.

3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Young, local band Adam's Apple will perform near the beer garden.

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. — St. George Catholic Church will host a chicken dinner in the parish hall.

5 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Renowned St. Louis entertainers SMASH BAND performs on the main stage.

9 p.m. — Clean up and go home!
