Affton Senior Center Opens Today in New Location

The senior center is now open in the old Affton High School building.

The Affton Senior Center opens today in its new location, the Village at Mackenzie Place at 8520 Mackenzie Road.

The senior center officially opened for business this morning in to an established center in the neighborhood.

The building was constructed in 1936-37 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In its new life as a senior center, the building has 20 market-rate apartments and 34 rent-controlled apartments, as well as new kitchen equipment. Officials expect to serve meals to 50 seniors at the center and another 60 for the Meals on Wheels program.

The senior center is moved to its new location from the Affton White-Rodgers Community Center.
