Affton-Shrewsbury Patch Turns One Year Old!

Every time I mention it to someone, I can hardly believe it. But what I tell you is true! Today is Affton-Shrewsbury Patch’s first birthday.

A year ago I had to explain what Patch was three, maybe four, times per day. I still do a lot of that, but I also meet people who tell me they read it every morning. It’s pretty gratifying to be a part of someone’s life like that, but I couldn’t have gotten there without you.

I couldn’t have gotten there without the news tips you emailed me, the pictures you posed for, the comments you left, the time you maybe spent answering our questions over the phone or at an event, the poll votes you cast, the tweets you retweeted and the Facebook recommendations you shared.

It’s been a wild ride, and I can’t thank all of you loyal readers enough.

As we move into our second year, I need to ask one more thing of you: Let me know what stories and features have worked for you on Patch and what you want to see in year two. What was your favorite story on Patch? How about your favorite picture? Your favorite comment by a fellow reader? If we get enough responses, I’ll put together an end-of-year roundup.

Hopefully year one was just a warm-up, and with your help we can do even more in 2012. Please be forthcoming with your ideas and prolific with your comments. And as always, I’ll be online or around town every day, grinding and hustling to bring you the most vital and awesome news about your town. Thanks again for your kindness, support and attention the last 12 months. I dearly hope that we’ve made a difference in your lives and in the Affton and Shrewsbury communities.
