For Keeps Sake Is a Perfect Escape for Scrapbookers

Indulge in a little "me time" at this scrapbook wonderland.

If you’re looking to indulge in some creative “me time,” For Keeps Sake is the perfect place to escape. You can save your sanity by getting out of the house sans kids while saving your memories in the form of a beautiful photo scrapbook.

For Keeps Sake is a scrapbooker’s paradise, located in South County at 4530 Lemay Ferry Rd. This locally owned shop offers all the scrapbook supplies you need to start a book of memories—racks full of paper, adhesives of every type, stickers, stamps, inks, markers, brads, ribbons, cutting tools, and even albums to put your masterpiece in when you’re done.

For Keeps Sake has a “cropping” area with tables available for scrapbooking. On weekdays, a $5 fee lets you crop all day long—and includes the use of the store's tools and die cutters. Members of the Tote Club—a club for frequent shoppers—get to crop for free during the weekdays in March, they just bring in their totes as proof of membership.

Once a month, you can join your fellow croppers for a special Friday evening crop—great for a girl’s night out. Friday crops are $5 and run until 11 p.m. For a full day of fun, sign up for a once a month Saturday crop-till-you-drop, all-day event. This crop runs 12 hours, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and costs $20, which not only gives you access to the special tools but provides a light breakfast, snacks and lunch (you’re on your own for dinner). Evening crops have limited space, so you must RSVP. Call the store at 314-487-8131 to see when the next crop event takes place and to reserve your spot.

If you’re new to scrapbooking and don’t know where to start, you can slip out of the house to attend one of the store's many classes. Call the store to see when it's having the next beginner’s class, or check out its blog for more information.
