Lemay Wok in Mehlville Takes Top Spot for Chinese Takeout

None of the Chinese carry-out places could serve up a majority of the vote. Sesame Chinese in Sunset Hills was the No. 2 vote-getter.

in Mehlville is the winner in this week's South County Food Fight, in which we asked Patch readers for their favorite restaurant for Chinese takeout.

But this week's competition shows that there's no runaway favorite. Lemay Wok captured the largest share of the votes at 27 percent, but far from a majority among the finalists in our friendly food competition. The next biggest vote-getter was  in Sunset Hills with 17 percent. Here's how the votes were split (may not equal 100 percent due to rounding).

  • , Shrewsbury, 6 percent.
  • , Affton, 6 percent.
  • Hunan Yu, Sappington, 13 percent.
  • , Fenton, 5 percent.
  • Li Yuan, Sappington, 5 percent.
  • , Affton, 1 percent.
  • , Affton, 6 percent.
  • , Fenton, 8 percent.

Voting took place from Thursday morning through Friday at 5 p.m.

Congratulations, Lemay Wok, and thank you to all who participated in the Food Fight by voting in the poll and leaving comments on the site.

We look forward to hearing from you again in the next edition of Food Fight.

About this column: Each week, the South St. Louis County Patch sites (plus Arnold!) will seek the best place to get certain entrees in the area. The Food Fight will allow readers to vote on their favorite place to get a burger or a latte or a steak, etc., in the area. We will ask for submissions every Monday, will post finalists every Thursday and the champion on Saturday. Be sure to check back to vote.

Been enjoying Lemay Wok for years. The service is great and the man in photo knows us on sight - very friendly.
