Mystery, Bowling and School Benefits

From dinner theatre to standard theatre, from an auction gala to cosmic bowling, take your pick of fun outings this weekend.

There are plenty of opportunities to get out of the house this weekend, whether you're raising money for local schools at a formal auction or a bowling alley, or enjoying some theatre.

    When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26, at Crestwood Court, 109 Crestwood Plz
    Why Go: How often do you get to witness a murder during dinner, and gather clues over dessert? Hopefully not often.
    Pricing: $25, includes dinner and a show. Cash bar available as well.

  • When/Where: 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Two Hearts Banquet Center, 4532 S Lindbergh Blvd.
    Why Go: Gather some friends and help support Providence Classical Christian Academy. Bid on such items as a B&B getaway, crates of fine wine and sports tickets, while enjoying complimentary wine and a formal dinner.
    Pricing: $50 per person, $100 for a couple. Sponsorship packages including tickets, plus advertisements in the auction catalog are also available.
  • for Seven Holy Founders
    When/Where: 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Sunset Lanes
    Why Go: You want to support a local school, but a black tie event isn't your cup of tea. Cosmic bowling offers black lights, fog machines and dance music, and is always fun with a group of friends.
    Pricing: $15
  • by Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts
    When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24 - Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Presented at Loretto-Hilton Center, 130 Edgar Rd, Webster Groves
    Why Go: It is a story of eight unlikely romances in a remote (imaginary) town in Maine. Webster University describes the play as, "By turns touching, comic, warm, gentle and altogether surprising."
    Pricing: $12 for general public, $6 for senior and students

  • When/Where: 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Affton Elks Lodge, 6334 Heege Rd.
    Why Go: Your week wouldn't be complete without a trivia night, and this one is raising money for Affton High School.
    Pricing: $160 for a team of 8
