St. Anthony's Graduates 20 from Paramedic Program
After a year of classes and clinical hours, 20 students can work as paramedics.
After a year of class and approximately 800 hours of clinical work, 20 students from the St. Anthony's Paramedic Program graduated July 8.
"In terms of pre-hospital care, it's the top license they can get," said Mark Christopher, St. Louis Community College EMS programs coordinator. "They learn pharmacology, EKGs, emergency medical care and more."
The students were in class two days a week, and then worked in hospitals and on ambulances for experience outside of class, totaling 800 hours.

Christopher said most of the students will go on to work on ambulances in fire districts or hospitals.
