Theatre, Video Games and Baseball Events This Weekend

From the barnyard to the baseball diamond, the coming week offers plenty to keep you and the family busy.

Take the whole family out for some community theatre or a fish fry, drop the kids off for a video game party or baseball camp, or sit down for some crafts and stories at the library. Better yet, do all of it and then tell us how it was.

  • at Tesson Ferry Library
    When/Where: 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10 at Tesson Ferry branch of St. Louis County Library, 9920 Lin Ferry Dr.
    Why Go: Learn about some of the stories and history behind St. Patrick's Day, followed by some fun activities and crafts. Good for ages three to six.
    Pricing: Free
  • presented by Shrewsbury Community Theatre
    When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10 - 13, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at Shrewsbury City Center, 5200 Shrewsbury Ave.
    Why Go: Based on the book by E.B. White, Charlotte's Web is about an unlikely friendship between a pig and a spider. The play is filled with song and dance, and performed by local kids and adults.
    Pricing: $7

  • When/Where: 4 - 7 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Seven Holy Founders, 6820 Aliceton Ave.
    Why Go: A fish fry is a Lenten tradition for Catholics, and still a delicious dinner for everyone else. Bring the whole family and enjoy the food and fellowship of the evening. Smaller portions and other food options available for kids and picky eaters.
    Pricing: $7.50 to $9.50 for adult meals, $6 for sandwich, $3.50 for pizza, $.50 for dessert.
  • at Tesson Ferry Library
    When/Where: 7 - 9 p.m. Friday, March 11 at Tesson Ferry branch of St. Louis County Library, 9920 Lin Ferry Dr.
    Why Go: Teen gaming enthusiasts get to face off on a variety of computer games over the library's local network. Meanwhile, you get to reclaim your TV and/or broadband connection for a couple of hours.

  • Spring Break Hit Camp at Balls-n-Strikes
    When/Where: 9:30am - 11:30am, 12:30pm - 2:30 pm on March 15 and 16, at South County Balls-n-Strikes, 11133 Lindbergh Business Court.
    Why Go: Get that kid ready for baseball season by brushing up on his or her batting skills. The certified instructors of Balls-n-Strikes can help teach your little Pujols plenty of new drills and techniques, so he'll be hitting them out of the park before you know it. Recommended for ages six to 13.
