Lecture and Book Signing

Joanne Hardy, author of The Girl in the Butternut Dress, will present a talk on southern Illinois and the divided loyalties that ravaged the area during the U.S. Civil War.  Ms. Hardy's talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session and a book signing.

Joanne Hardy grew up in southern Illinois, steeped in the stories passed down from her Civil War veteran great-grandfathers.  She has been a history teacher for two decades, and is an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
