Local Communities Step Up to the Plate For the Hungry

Local food pantries are struggling to feed the hungry.

The local communities of Glendale, Rock Hill, Shrewsbury and Webster Groves are gathering non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to benefit local food pantries and our neighbors in need.

Area pantries are struggling to feed the hungry.

The drive begins on Tuesday, December 6 and runs through Friday, December 16.  Donated items may be dropped off at the following locations during normal business hours.

City of Glendale - City Hall, 424 N Sappington Rd;

City of Rock Hill - City Hall, 320 W Thornton Ave;

City of Shrewsbury - City Hall, 5200 Shrewsbury Ave;

City of Webster Groves - Fire Dept., 6 S Elm Ave.

Donations will be distributed to The Circle of Concern, Mary Queen of Peace - St. Vincent de Paul Society, Webster-Rock Hill Ministries, the Nurses for Newborns Foundation and the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Food Center.

Requested items include non-perishables, such as chicken & dumplings, canned ravioli, chili, beef stew, canned pasta, soup, tomato sauce, canned chicken and fish, canned fruit and vegatables, saltine crackers, dry pasta, rice, beans, macaroni & cheese (boxes or packages,) peanut butter, jelly, boxed hot or cold cereals, juice boxes.  Personal care items include soap, shampoo, moisturizer, baby formula, and disposable diapers (particularly sizes 3, 4, and 5.)
