Award, Rams Draft Party and Learning About Gardening

Fuel Up to Play 60 News at Rogers Middle School

Fuel Up to Play 60 News

I am honored to have been chosen the Program Advisor for the State of Missouri.  My husband Mike and I were invited to attend the Rams Draft Party at The Pageant on Friday night.  Courtney Corbett and the Midwest Dairy Council were kind enough to have us as their guests and we are very grateful.  We had an opportunity to see our new draft pick Michael Brockers, who looks like he will be big enough to hide James Laurinaitis behind him. I did a lot of people watching and we had a wonderful time, so thank you Courtney.

Last week Organic Farmer Paul Krautmann came to talk to 6th grade students about farming and gardening. Paul is from Bellews Creek Farm in Cedar Hill and typically grows winter squash, tomatoes, sweet peppers, jalapeno/chipotle peppers, garlic, onions, popcorn and dried beans. Since we have plans to raise our own vegetables next year we are making preparations.  Rich Steyh is also a farmer from Cedar Hill and he will be coming up this week to “till our garden”.  We are really excited about growing our own vegetables and thank Fuel Up to Play 60 for helping us get started.
