Rogers Middle School Rocks Go Red for Women!!

Rogers Middle School students and staff celebrated Go Red for Women on February 1st.

“Rogers Goes Red for Women”

Last week students, faculty and staff wore red in honor of the 10th anniversary of “Go Red for Women”.  We acknowledge the American Heart Association’s efforts to ensure that all women are aware of the signs and symptoms of heart disease.  Heart disease is still the number killer of women in the United States and causes 1 in 3 deaths each year.

At Rogers Middle School, Trivia Tuesday questions during the month of February will contain questions about heart disease and revolve around AHA’s Go Red information.  Laminated red hearts are taped to the floor with important information for women including signs and symptoms of a heart attack and think F.A.S.T. (facial drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech, time to call 911) for a stroke.  Students hung signs with information and statistics about heart disease. Rogers wants to show everyone that we are proud to GO RED with our 3 foot letters and signed hearts in the front window.  Everyone who comes into the lobby also comments on the 10 foot light up heart in the front window.  We had a wonderful turnout last Friday when students and staff were asked to wear red in honor of those women affected by heart disease. I am so proud of my Rogers family, this year we proved that We Rocked Red!!!
