Affton Couple Were Making Meth in Their Home, Police Say

Joseph Allgeyer and Marney Summers were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

A man and woman are accused of making methamphetamine in their home in Affton.

Joseph Allgeyer, 33, and Marney Summers, 44, both of the 9700 block of Arv Ellen Drive in Affton, were charged Tuesday with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a meth precursor drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

St. Louis County Police said Allgeyer and Summers were occupants in an apartment with suspicious odors on Aug. 17, 2012. An officer went up to the door an knocked. Once inside the apartment, he saw marijuana and drug-related items in plain view, police said.

Police found meth, meth-related chemicals and items during a search of the apartment.

Bail was set at $25,000 each, cash only, for Allgeyer and Summers.
