Affton Firefighters Battle Lemay Brush Fire

Affton and Lemay fire protection districts both helped put out a brush fire at 1:30 p.m. today.

firefighters joined the their counterparts in Lemay to battle a brush fire that popped up on Avenue H off of Weber Road Friday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

Battling fires during 100-degree temperature days is particularly grueling and dangerous for firefighters. Captain Ben Waser said firetrucks are carrying extra coolers with water for staff and residents.

The to fight fires during extreme heat.
