Affton Precinct Police Blotter: Vehicle Stolen, Stuck in Mud

The following information was supplied by the Affton Precinct of the St. Louis County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Friday, July 1

A suspect tried to steal a basket-full of DVDs from the Target at 4250 Rusty Road—near the I-270 and I-55 interchange—but was arrested. This was the third time this person had stolen merchandise from this location and at other places in Arnold. All told, the stolen items valued $1,300.

One vehicle's window was broken and some medication taken in the 9000 block of Mathilda Avenue in Affton.

A bicycle was reportedly stolen last month in the 4700 block of Brookton Way, in South County. The bicycle was stolen out of a house's attached garage.

Saturday, July 2

A wallet was stolen and a lock was damaged on a vehicle in a felony theft in the 9400 block of Moccassin Terrace Court, off Dana Avenue in Affton. Stolen items included a purse, credit cards and a driver's license.

Sunday, July 3

Another wallet was reported stolen from a hotel room at America's Best Value Inn, 6602 South Lindbergh Blvd. Stolen items included a driver's license, debit card and cash.

At a house in the 10900 block of Kingsmere Drive in Affton, a gun and ammunition were stolen in a felony theft.

A firearm was also stolen from a house in the 4800 block of Oldenburg Avenue in Affton.

Monday, July 4

A white, 1994 GMC Vandura was reported stolen near the intersection of Weber Road and Bayless Avenue.

Two vehicles were stolen from the 8000 block of Chivvis. One didn't even make it off the property, however. One got stuck in mud and was abondoned by the thief. The other was found in Festus.

Tuesday, July 5

A business was burgalized along Gravois Road in Affton. Numerous items and money were stolen, including comsetics, beauty equipment and electronics.

Police investigated a case of a stolen credit card being used 12 times at area QuikTrips. The case dates back to 2008.

Wednesday, July 6

An apartment complex in the 8500 block of Webshire Lane in Affton had several tools taken from its maintenance room.

The doors were taken off a Jeep in the 9200 block of Southview Lane in St. George.

A woman's credit card was taken and used for about $200 in the 5100 block of Hilda Avenue. Police say the victim suspects her ex-boyfriend took the card during a breakup.
