Drug Arrest Made on Rhodes Avenue in Mackenzie

See what the Shrewsbury Police Department investigated this month.

Shrewsbury Police responded to the following incidents this month, according to the weekly police blotter:

Friday, Jan. 18

At 6 p.m., following a vehicle accident near the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and Interstate 44, a brown car continued south without exchanging insurance information. Two people were in the car during the accident.

Sunday, Jan. 20

At 5:50 a.m., a disturbance was reported in the 7300 block of Murdoch Avenue. A man threatened to overdose on prescription pills and left the house. Police were able to find him and take him to a hospital.

Monday, Jan. 21

Sometime overnight, a vehicle drove through a fence and bushes on the north side of a residential property in the 4700 block of Verguene Avenue. An investigation led police to a Kirkwood woman, who was arrested and issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident and having no proof of insurance. 

Thursday, Jan. 24

At 10:15 p.m., a man was arrested in the 7000 block of Rhodes Avenue in the village of Mackenzie on suspicion of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police were called to the scene after someone appeared to be breaking into the home. Police learned that the homeowner, who was the one arrested, had locked his keys inside.
