Family Joins Roman Stolarski For Fire District Promotion

Capt. Roman Stolarski has been with the Mehlville Fire Protection District for 11 years.

The has a new captain with the promotion of Roman Stolarski. The board of directors voted unanimously in closed meeting Wednesday to move the former private up to captain. 

The district covers Shrewsbury and other nearby neighborhoods and works closely with the Affton Fire Protection District.

Stolarski has been with Mehlville fire since 2001 and previously worked for the busiest station in the St. Louis Fire Department.

"He came in with an impressive resume and performs extremely well," Deputy Chief Dan La Fata said. 

To become a captain, firefighters have to pass a rigorous test including written, scenario-based, oral interview and role play portions.

La Fata said Stolarski completed the list of several captain vacancies in the department due to retirements.
