Man Allowed Prostitution in Shrewsbury Home, Drove Woman to Meet Clients, Police Say

A man faces charges for promoting prostitution at his former home in Shrewsbury.

John Charles Bujnak, 54, formerly of the 5100 block of Lennox Avenue in Shrewsbury, was charged with promoting travel for prostitution and third-degree promoting prostitution.

Bujnak’s address now is listed as the 3800 block of Illinois Avenue in St. Louis.

St. Louis County Police said Bujnak allowed a prostitute to live with him and use his house as a place for prostitution on April 2. Police said he used to frequent the prostitute. He did not charge rent for the woman, but allowed her to contribute money for bills each month, police said.

Police said he admitted driving the woman to Illinois to engage in sex acts with clients there on April 2.

Bujnak was arrested on the charges Sept. 6. He posted a $10,000 bond Sept. 9 and was released from St. Louis County jail.
