Man Attacks Girlfriend in Shrewsbury Store, Police Say

Shrewsbury Police said Kyle Johnson-Clark punched and bit his girlfriend Tuesday.

A South County man was charged with biting and hitting his girlfriend at a store in Shrewsbury Tuesday.

Kyle Anthony Johnson-Clark, 21, of the 7800 block of Olde English Road in South County, was charged Wednesday with second-degree domestic assault.

Shrewsbury Police said Johnson-Clark punched and bit his girlfriend at the Nothing Over a Dollar Deals store, 7073 Chippewa in Shrewsbury.

When officers told the woman he would be arrested, she responded, “You guys want him to kill me? I told you I didn’t want to prosecute,” according to a court document.

Police reported that Johnson-Clark had assaulted his girlfriend in the past, but it has not been reported.

Other witnesses saw the assault and identified Johnson-Clark as the man who assaulted the woman, according to a court document.

Johnson-Clark is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $75,000, cash only.
