Man Beat, Choked Girlfriend in Affton, Police Say

The man was charged last Friday with second-degree domestic assault.

An Affton man punched, beat and choked his girlfriend last Friday, St. Louis County Police said.

Benjamin Murden, 38, of the 9700 block of Arv Ellen Drive, was charged Friday with second-degree domestic assault.

St. Louis County Police reported that Murden argued with his girlfriend after he was “caught looking into a neighbor’s vehicle.” After he assaulted her, he fled before officers arrived, police said.

Murden is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $50,000, cash only.
