Man Killed in Affton Forklift Accident

A forklift toppled off a loading dock at Schroeder & Tremayne Inc. on Valcour Avenue.

A man working at an Affton business died Monday after being pinned under a fallen forklift that toppled off a loading dock.

STLToday.com reported that the man was Robert Jett, 54, of Festus, who had worked for 18 years as a forklift operator at Schroeder & Tremayne Inc. at 8500 Valcour Avenue, a business that distributes household products.

In January 2011 claimed the life of an employee at the Kerry Ingredients and Flavours plant, just a few blocks away.
