According to the Fox 2 report, a bullet went through the victim’s hand and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The shooting occurred just before midnight inside a house on Philo.

St. Louis County Police told Fox 2 that three men were sitting on the couch watching television. A 21-year-old man had a .40 caliber and a .45 caliber handgun with him. Investigators say a man in his early 20s put a .40 caliber bullet into the .45 gun.

Police told Fox 2 the man didn’t think it would go off because it had a different caliber round in it, but when he pulled the trigger, it did go off sending the bullet right through his hand.

At that point, police say the legal owner of the guns panicked and hid the guns in the backyard of a neighboring home. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
