Man Stole, Forged Affton Business' Checks, Police Say

Police said the man stole the checks after the business was closed and cashed them between April 24 and May 29.

An Affton man stole checks from an Affton business, forged and cashed them, St. Louis County Police said.

Edin Crnovic, 28, of the 8900 block of New Hampshire in Affton, was charged Sept. 28 with second-degree burglary, misdemeanor stealing and forgery.

St. Louis County Police said Crnovic entered Auto Glass Xpress at 9530 Gravois Road in Affton on several occasions when the business was closed and stole 22 checks. He then forged the checks and cashed them between April 24 and May 29.

In June, Crnovic was charged with two counts of burglary and stealing after police said he stole two laptops from a neighbor's apartment.

Crnovic is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
